FDC students take a mini safari.

The Karen/Langata area of Nairobi is home to several animal sanctuaries, including the Giraffe Centre, the Nairobi Animal Orphanage and Mamba Village.  During the holidays, thanks to the social responsibility arm of the Giraffe Centre, students were offered a tour of these facilities.  The Giraffe Centre provided a bus, a tour guide – the fabulous Maurice who has a degree in environmental science and who shared fascinating aspects of the ecology and animal behaviour – and lunch.  Our thanks go to all who made this trip possible. “They were all amazing”, said one of the students.  “I had never seen any of these animals before. And to be so close is so good."
